Aviary Block at Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre
We were so excited when we were commissioned by Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre to build a custom aviary block. The centre has a fascinating background and is family-run. Jenny got in touch after needing to update their existing housing for kestrels and harris hawks, and she had a tricky area where it needed to go. She sent through some rough drawings with measurements and requested that we use Zoo Aviary mesh for the enclosure. The new aviary block consisted of three 6ft by 12ft areas, and two 6ft by 8ft areas. The front was meshed with low cladding along the bottom – this was so that younger visitors could view the birds. The building needed to have a full roof over over the entire enclosure, with 3ft mesh along the top front edge. Each section had full tongue and groove divides so that the birds couldn’t see each other.
” We are really pleased with these. Birds in and settled. Thank you for the excellent service. ” – Jenny, Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre |
