We recently manufactured and installed this large bespoke rabbit and guinea pig enclosure for a primary school, creating one purpose-built structure to house both rabbits and guinea pigs in their own separate spaces.
Based on our Double Warren Rabbit Housing, the design was adapted to create a
21ft x 6ft structure containing three individual enclosures – one large area for the rabbits and two separate areas for guinea pigs.
Rabbit Housing & Run
One half of the build was dedicated to the rabbits, creating a
10ft 6in x 6ft enclosure.
This included a
4ft x 6ft enclosed housing area with an adjoining
6ft 6in x 6ft run, giving the rabbits permanent access between their sheltered housing and outdoor run.
The rabbit accommodation was designed to meet current RWAF space recommendations, providing plenty of permanent living space within one secure setup.
Two Separate Guinea Pig Enclosures
The other half of the building was divided to create
two individual guinea pig enclosures, each measuring
5ft 3in x 6ft.
Each enclosure has its own
5ft 3in x 2ft enclosed housing area and
5ft 3in x 4ft run, giving each group its own separate housing and exercise space.
Solid divisions were incorporated between the rabbit and guinea pig accommodation and between the two guinea pig runs.
Built for a School Environment
Bringing all three enclosures together into one structure created a practical setup for the school, while keeping the different animals safely separated.
The customer also opted for
13mm x 13mm 16g stainless steel mesh to the fronts and doors.
The complete structure measures 21ft long by 6ft deep, with a height of approximately
5ft at the front, sloping down to 4ft 6in at the back.
