Bespoke 4-Bay Falconry Mews and Side Shed

This recently completed bespoke 4-bay falconry mews was designed and built for Airborne Falconry, based in Staffordshire. The project is a tailored variation of our popular Chapel Aviary Mews system, adapted to meet the client’s specific requirements for daily bird management, welfare, and operational efficiency.

The result is a secure, practical and highly functional setup designed for birds of prey, with careful attention given to weather protection, moult management, and long-term usability.

Custom Built Falconry Mews Features

This installation includes a range of specialist features designed for both practicality and bird welfare:

• Four individual mews bays with secure bar-front windows
• Drop-down shutters designed for weather protection and use during moult, creating a calm and sheltered environment for birds
• Full-length rear service corridor for safe, efficient access
• Mesh viewing windows to each bay for discreet monitoring
• Large side storage shed, also used as a weigh room
• Customised shed door adapted to accommodate a freezer for improved workflow

Every detail has been designed to support efficient husbandry while maintaining a low-disturbance environment for birds of prey.

Designed for Weather Protection and Moult Management

A key consideration in this build was ensuring the mews performs year-round, particularly during periods of harsh weather and moulting.

The combination of secure construction, controlled ventilation, and adjustable shutters helps maintain a stable internal environment, supporting bird comfort and reducing stress during moult.
