Bespoke Wooden Dog Breeding Kennel Block

The brief started in 2018 when our lovely customer sent us a few photos of the design and layout.  There were many details to work out, including a rear corridor with vents and windows.  A kitchen area and isolation room that needed to be fully wipe-clean, along with five dog kennel blocks.  We worked with our client ensuring that the dog kennels and runs were of adequate size to meet the breeding regulations.  In addition, there were a few extras to boost the stars on her breeding licence.  After a few headaches over smaller details such as which way doors needed to open, having windows to each sleep and also sliding hatches from the dog runs, we were finally able to mutually agree on a final design and price.

DESIGN BRIEF

A bespoke kennel block that includes a corridor and uPVC doors and windows.  All extras to be included: PVC lined insulation, stable doors, sliding hatches, anti-chew pop holes, wipe clean floors and Onduline roofing.  Perpsex non-opening windows and vents along the corridor to allow light and ventilation.  Two wipe-clean side rooms for use as a kitchen area and an isolation room.

Turkey House Cotswold Wildlife Park

We installed this bespoke building to Cotswold Wildlife Park in Oxfordshire back in September 2017 .  The building was a total of 30ft by 8ft and we separated it into three areas at 10ft wide.  Each section had a front sliding hatch and sliding perspex window and a rear stable door.  A blast from the past, but still very worthy of a mention – this was one of our first bespoke builds.  Two of the housing areas were for Turkeys, while the third was to be used as a quarantine area when required.

Bespoke Whelping Kennel Block

We were very excited when a returning customer requested a bespoke dog breeding kennel from us.  The initial phone call enquiry was for a 24ft x 12ft block to have three separate areas.  Importantly, each internal section needed to adhere to the new breeding licensing regs, so we fully lined each 8ft x 12ft section with PVC insulation along with phenolic coated flooring.  The PVC and wipe-clean flooring are both anti-bacterial.

As a result, they provide a hygienic and easy-clean environment.  We also added opening windows and 1/3 stable doors to allow ventilation.  The half-closing doors also offer added security from potential escapees.  A perfect base for our customer to add in their own whelping boxes and breeding necessities.

Aviary Block at Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre

We were so excited when we were commissioned by Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre to build a custom aviary block.  The centre has a fascinating background and is family-run.  Jenny got in touch after needing to update their existing housing for kestrels and harris hawks, and she had a tricky area where it needed to go.  She sent through some rough drawings with measurements and requested that we use Zoo Aviary mesh for the enclosure.  The new aviary block consisted of three 6ft by 12ft areas, and two 6ft by 8ft areas.  The front was meshed with low cladding along the bottom – this was so that younger visitors could view the birds.  The building needed to have a full roof over over the entire enclosure, with 3ft mesh along the top front edge.  Each section had full tongue and groove divides so that the birds couldn’t see each other.

” We are really pleased with these. Birds in and settled. Thank you for the excellent service. ” – Jenny, Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre

You are welcome to view our aviary block at Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre.  Please note that there may be an entrance fee into the centre – all proceeds go towards the upkeep and care of the animals that are in their care.
