We were very excited when we were asked to build a bespoke Marmoset enclosure in December last year. Our customer told us that he’d owned the tiny monkeys when he was younger and he had decided to have some more again. He had his own ideas about modifying our Leighton aviary to make it suitable and we were only happy to oblige.
The structure measured 10ft6in x 6ft in total and comprised of an enclosed housing/security entrance and a mesh run. The housing section was insulated with wipe clean walls and floor, and had a sliding hatch over the hole to the run. The run had 14 gauge 25mm x 25mm mesh on the inside, as well as a second outer layer of 6mm x 6mm rodent mesh. The opening from the housing to the run had a shelf on either side, and an opening hatch with internal feeding shelf was added to the run section.
I gave the condition to our customer that I expect photos of the monkeys in their new home once settled in!
Three bay wooden dog kennel with extended dog runs having side bar windows
Our customer in North Wales got in touch to purchase a bespoke dog kennel with extended dog runs. Basedon our Sandon triple kennel, the dog runs were extendedfrom 6ft 6in to 8ft. We were also asked to clad the run ends and add small galvanised bar windows.
Insulated and wipe clean kennel sleeps
The dog kennel sleeping areas had full height access doors, as well as a dog pop hole with aluminium anti-chew strips. Our customer asked us to line the kennel sleeps with white PVC, which has 40mm insulation underneath. We also added phenolic coated flooring for a wipe clean surface that is easy to clean.
Solid sides to dog runs
The wooden ends to the dog runs provide protection from weather, and also help to reduce noise from dogs barking. A 4ft wide x 2ft tall bar panel was added for viewing and to allow ventilation and light into the runs.
The Kennel Design
After a brief chat on the phone, we put together some ideas for our customer to meet her requirements. A floor-plan was made along with a rough plan of what the build would look like.
The Finished Kennel Build
What our customer said:
I am really pleased, thank you all for your excellent service and great communication throughout , I love my kennels , would use you again and recommend you to anyone.
At the beginning of October, we travelled in convoy to Pencoed in Wales to build a total of 11 kennel units.
Our customer came to us after being let down by another local company. We went through various ideas and builds and we also got in touch with her local council to discuss breed license requirements. After some thought, our customer decided to go ahead with our Swinton kennel blocks of which she had three triple units and one double.
Our installation team managed the delivery in two trips in our 3.5 tonne van as well as a loaned 7.5 tonne truck. There were a lot of floors (if you follow us on Facebook you might remember the post about the many floors…), a lot of roof panels and so much felt! Considering how large the build was, the three lads got the build finished in two days. Well, apart from a final trip to deliver some new door fronts with sliding hatches that our customer requested at the last minute!
We are thrilled to have been able to provide this kennel system to such a lovely customer who was over the moon with her new kennels!
…just perfect…absolutely love them!! Many, many thanks for your help, been a pleasure to work with you all.

I am so excited to share this one! A lovely garden bunny house with plenty of space for hopping and exploring! Our customer got in touch and asked us to build our Charlton single dog kennel for her rabbits – with a few tweaks, of course. The 5cm bar run panels were swapped for a double layer of welded wire mesh which was better suited for the rabbits. She also asked for the 16 gauge wire which is rodent proof.
Our customer had a couple of ideas already for the enclosure, and sent over some images of a ramp and high shelf that she wanted. We were able to create this, along with a safety barrier and drop down hatch for easy cleaning. The internal housing area was lined with white PVC sheets that had polystyrene insulation underneath. The standard wooden clad floor was also upgraded to our phenolic coated wipe clean flooring. A sliding hatch was added to the pop hole so that the bunnies could be locked up safely at night. Finally, a mesh window was put into the front of the internal housing area along with a drop down shutter. This allowed our customer to quickly view the rabbits inside, as well as allowing extra ventilation as required. The shutter and the sliding hatch meant that the housing could be completely enclosed at night.
Customer Review
